The shores of Maui are an ideal, enchanting place to hold a wedding. World-renowned for its natural beauty and breathtaking views, the Valley Isle being the perfect backdrop for happy couples to say ‘I do,’ bringing family and friends together to celebrate in paradise. Jannie and Yu wanted to share in the idyllic scenery as a part of their wedding celebration, and brought together some of the island’s most-talented vendors to have a wedding experience for the ages.
Our very own planner extraordinaire Diana from Happily Maui’d worked in tandem with Aegir Weddings (shout out to Sylvia!), a destination wedding planner based on Honolulu, around all the particulars. Their teamwork helped to realize a fantastic wedding and reception ceremony at the Olowalu Plantation House in West Maui, complete with splendid views of the ocean and an atmosphere that’s second to none.
Jannie and Yu first met at a classical music concert, setting the perfect soundtrack for their budding romance and eventual union. Launched into one another’s orbit under the swells of the orchestra, the happy couple wanted to highlight a musical theme into their ceremony. Piano scores were printed directly onto the back of their wedding programs, providing the perfect touch for their romantic beachfront wedding. Jamie positively sparkled in a divine Octavia wedding dress by Vera Wang, dazzling attendees with its gathered tulle bodice and rushed tulle technique overlay. Yu was the very picture of dapper in his Sandro suit, fitting both he and the occasion to perfection. Talented musician Rona Landrigan of the Maui Chamber Orchestra provided the musical score and accompaniment for the ceremony, creating the perfect musical interlude as the couple affirmed their love for one another in front of their beloved family and friends.
Their reception saw guests dining under a string-lit chandelier for maximum ambience, the ocean’s waves setting the perfect background to their celebration. Jannie and Yu aspired to capture an elegant, warm aesthetic for their celebration, smartly pairing shades of cream and gold together for a timeless look and feel. Our friends at Dellables Floral Design helped to accent the base colors by weaving Papas Grasses and dry, white Silver Dollars throughout the hall, creating a singular and refined look for the proceedings.
Can we just stop for a moment and call your attention to Jannie’s Mermaid dress that she wore for the reception? This Peach Boho number was an absolute show-stopper! You can find it on Etsy here.
